Authenticating with Comcast & Xfinity
The first step in connecting to a Comcast / Xfinity mailbox with FEC is to enable access to third-party apps. You can accomplish this as follows:

If you receive an error along the lines of a connection timeout or the server not responding, your IMAP ports may not be open. Please refer to the following article regarding the ports FEC uses: https://docs.metaspike.com/article/38-which-network-ports-does-forensic-email-collector-use
Once third-party app access is enabled, you can use the built-in Comcast profile in FEC for the acquisition. It is important to note that Comcast expects only the local part of the end-user's email as the username. In other words, if the target mailbox is john.doe@comcast.net, enter john.doe as the username in FEC.
Please refer to the following article for sample manual configuration settings:

We have received a user report that—at least in some cases—temporarily turning off 2FA may be needed to authenticate with Comcast / Xfinity accounts.
